BNY Mellon Plans to Launch 24/7 Settlement Service for Tokenized U.S. Treasuries by 2027

BNY Mellon plans to launch a 24/7 settlement service for tokenized U.S. Treasuries by 2027, according to Odaily.

According to the report, BNY Mellon, which has $62.6 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration, plans to begin a pilot program based on a private blockchain by the end of this year.

This plan aligns with a broader trend in traditional finance toward expanding real-world asset tokenization, including U.S. Treasuries, and adopting blockchain-based settlement infrastructure.

Crypto Futures Market Sees $90.856 Million in Liquidations Over 24 Hours

According to CoinGlass, the crypto futures market recorded total liquidations of $90,856,400 over the past 24 hours, affecting 50,635 traders.

Short liquidations totaled $49,362,900, while long liquidations came to $41,493,500. By exchange, Binance saw the largest amount at $41,597,800, followed by Hyperliquid with $17,566,300 and Bybit with $10,116,000.

The largest single liquidation occurred on Hyperliquid’s XYZ:BRENTOIL-USD contract, totaling $9,353,300. Total open interest currently stands at about $114.219 billion, while the 24-hour long-short ratio is 50.68% to 49.32%.

Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Adjusted for the 15th Time This Year, Down 0.74%

Bitcoin network mining difficulty was adjusted for the 15th time this year at block height 959616, declining by about 0.74%.

According to Odaily, in 2026 the Bitcoin network has recorded nine downward difficulty adjustments and six upward adjustments. Since the start of the year, mining difficulty has fallen 13.82%, from 146.47 trillion to 126.23 trillion.

During the same period, Bitcoin’s price declined 26% from Jan. 1, while hashprice, the estimated daily mining revenue per PH/s, dropped from $37.39 to $32.21. Some large mining companies are reallocating power resources toward artificial intelligence infrastructure and cloud service customers.

Chainlink Whale Withdraws 467,180 LINK From Binance Over 13 Hours

Odaily, citing Onchain Lens, reported that a Chainlink whale address withdrew 467,180 LINK from Binance over the past 13 hours.

The withdrawals were worth about $3.94 million in total, including 253,920 LINK valued at about $2.14 million and 213,260 LINK valued at about $1.80 million. The most recent transfer took place about three hours ago.

The whale address currently holds 2.05 million LINK, valued at about $17.7 million.

Lido Completes stETH Rebase and Retroactively Distributes Underreported ETH Rewards

Lido announced on July 26 that it completed the day’s stETH rebase and retroactively distributed ETH rewards that had been undercounted during the previous day’s interest calculation.

The annualized yield corresponding to the compensation is about 2.29%. Lido said it has completed an oracle module update and audit in order to speed up data reporting and make it easier to investigate similar cases in the future.

Lido said its initial analysis suggests the issue appears to be related to one validator in pending deposit status being omitted from the previous day’s report. However, it added that user funds were never at risk during the period.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said he demonstrated ChatGPT’s new end-to-end workflow agent functionality.

According to PANews, Altman entered a long prompt on his phone asking ChatGPT to create three weekend trip plans for eight people and build a website where nine people could collaborate on the decision-making process.

He explained that once consensus was reached, the system automatically proceeded with bookings and even drafted a group email in Gmail, all through a single command.
